Tips for a Stress-Free
WEDDING DAY

The Generous Buffer

Build generous breathing room into every part of the timeline, especially those early hours.

When you’re not racing the clock, the day feels relaxed and the memories extra special.

Give the day space to breathe and it will reward you handsomely.

The Golden Timeline

The golden hour is one of the most beautiful times of the day. When the light turns soft and golden (as long as the clouds aren’t too thick), everything feels warmer, more romantic, and a little bit more timeless.

It’s especially wonderful for couple portraits because the glow can be very flattering. If you’d like help planning your timeline so we can catch this light, just let me know. I’m always happy to help.

The Formal Pictures

I’ve found that around 8–10 group pictures is the sweet spot. It’s quick and painless yet still covers all the important “must-have” shots.

The secret is to pick two naturally bossy (but lovable) people, one from each side of the family, to help wrangle everyone. Give them a clear shot list and things move surprisingly fast. After that your guests can relax and get back to celebrating your day.

Note: If you’re reading this because you’ve been “chosen”… truly thank you for your service.

Savour in-between moments like fine wine.

Hold hands while walking to the ceremony. Hug your father a second longer than necessary. Laugh so hard you forget the camera exists. These unscripted moments are what produce the images that will make you weep years later. The camera adores authenticity; it is the very lifeblood of the photography you’ll cherish.

The Beautiful Chaos

Accept that minor disasters are traditional. A speech will go off-script. The heavens may open with theatrical timing. Laugh, adapt, and carry on. Roll with the chaos and watch your story become infinitely more unforgettable.

Heirlooms & Heartstrings

Before the day arrives, let me know if there is anything sentimental I should know about. Such as a framed photograph of your grandmother, the handkerchief embroidered by your great-aunt, the note from your late father. Don’t leave it to chance, let me know.
